We should all have a great respect and reverence for those that are currently serving on active duty in the US Military. Active duty soldiers play a major role in safeguarding the general public from the troubles this nation faces. When I was an Army Ranger somebody once told me that being on active duty in the US Military was just like having a full-time job.
This person obviously didn’t know what they were talking about. They didn’t understand the real sacrifices that men and women of the US Military make on a day to day basis while serving on active duty. Yes, I guess you could say that being on active duty is like having a full-time job, but it is much more than that.
When I was on active duty as an Army Ranger the US Military wasn’t just my job. It was my life. I woke up early in the morning and the first thing I did was PT (Physical Training) even when I was on a deployment. If I happened to be stateside which was very rare I was training all day. If I was on deployment, especially as an Army Ranger, I went on multiple missions both day and night. It was a job being an Army Ranger. It was a 24/7 job where there weren’t many breaks.
The point that I am trying to get across is to be thankful for our active duty soldiers that serve in the US Military. They make a lot of personal sacrifices both day and night safeguarding our freedom. While we are out having a good time, while we are sleeping, while we are going about our everyday lives they are out there protecting us.
